20,000 leagues under the sea

The French Jules Verne (Nantes 1828 - Amiens 1905) is the author of the novel "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea". The most remarkable element of Verne's stories is his references to scientific inventions that would be conceived many years later, such as the airplane and the submarine, as well as achievements that were considered impossible at the time, such as traveling to the moon. Professor Aronnax, his faithful servant Conseil, and the Canadian whaler Ned Land take part in a mission to capture what they assume is a gigantic whale. Soon, they learn that what they were searching for is not a creature, but an amazing submarine. Its captain is Captain Nemo, a mysterious man, with whom they will share an adventurous journey, traveling 20,000 leagues under the sea, into the wonderful world of the depths.
