Lena Koronellou wakes up in the middle of the night in her house in Psychiko, with the impression that someone has entered her room. She tries to turn on the light, but it doesn't turn on. She wants to scream, but she can't. Driven mad by anxiety, she shoots and the unknown man collapses on the floor. Then, the light turns on by itself and Lena sees in horror that she has killed her husband; a red vase has fallen on the floor and shattered. She rushes out of the room and, when she returns with the house servants, the body has disappeared and the vase is intact in its place. What is hidden behind all this? Did it really happen, or did she imagine it? "The Red Vase" by Giannis Maris - who created a "school" of crime fiction writers in Greece - began to be published, in installments, in the newspaper "Apogevmatini" in January 1956. The novel, whose atmosphere resembles Alfred Hitchcock's films, was adapted for cinema in 1964 by Grigoris Grigoriou, starring Nikos Kourkoulos.
