Two books by Swiss Erich von Daniken, titled "Memories from the Future" and "Return to the Stars", which were recently published, caused significant noise and recorded sales records. This is natural, firstly because books dealing with space travel always generate interest in our space age and secondly because in them the author expresses the view that in prehistoric or even historical times, thinking beings from other planets visited Earth and that these beings were the "gods" of all mythologies. Furthermore, he argues that these "gods" brought a new genetic code to Earth - because, according to the author, until then bestiality prevailed - and thus the thinking man, homo sapiens, was created. With the new genetic code, the new moral perceptions, and the various technical methods introduced by the "gods", the current human species was created with its moral principles and technical achievements. And also that man's efforts to free himself from Earth and reach other stars are a result of ancient memories from the arrival of these extraterrestrial beings.
