Look at this man on the cover holding a big hammer. It serves as a perfect image for Depeche Mode's third album. The band had begun to take an interest in the sounds of industrial rock and thus started incorporating the "hit" in various forms, which gave a harder edge to their previously glossy synth pop sound. The result was one of their best early albums and the wonderful single "Everything Counts" which, according to the tracklist, is so good that it appears on the album twice.
