Summary
A sufficient knowledge of the physiology of each organism is a prerequisite for its successful management. In recent decades, techniques of Molecular Biology have allowed us to answer the "how" and "why" of many physiological phenomena in all organisms, including plants. Thus, classical "Plant Physiology" is complemented by significant information from Molecular Physiology, which not only allows for a more complete understanding of physiological phenomena but also the utilization of new knowledge in various biotechnological applications.
This book is the result of a coordinated collective effort by eight university teachers from five higher education institutions in the country to present not only our traditional knowledge but also recent research results in this field. Thus, the book can be used as a textbook for undergraduate and graduate students, as a source of information for researchers, biologists, and agronomists on the latest developments in Plant Physiology, and by any reader with a special interest in specific topics.
