A paperback volume of 46 pages, 20X15 cm, in fairly good condition. It bears a few pencil notes from the student and 2-3 small ink stains. Otherwise, it is complete and intact, without tears.

The Metamorphoses is a poetic work by Ovid written after 1 AD in fifteen books and 12,000 hexameter verses (all his other surviving poems are in elegiac meter).
It is considered one of the most beautiful works that connects logical reasoning and imagination, with allegories hidden in the stories, as well as the famous "causes" of each story. Gods and mortals, nymphs and situations are perfectly intertwined in a work that is believed to have been the reason for Ovid's exile by Emperor Augustus, the so-called Octavian, the adopted son of Julius Caesar, as many scholars believe that in this work Ovid made a long allegory, behind which lay his anti-establishment view regarding Augustus's dominance.
With his Metamorphoses, Ovid tried to surpass the then national poet of Rome, Virgil, with his famous Aeneid, as well as Homer. For the formation of his work, he mainly used Greek myths, and his sources were the works: Heteroiomena by Nicander, Ornithogonia by Boeus, and the Metamorphoses of Parthenius from Nicaea. Moreover, Ovid's Metamorphoses served and continue to serve as a bridge between ancient Greece and Europe, Christianity, and the Roman and Greek pantheon, creating a religious syncretism.
