Vintage Yanioitiko Silver-Plated Ashtray Filigree - Work "Petros" (Heavy: 289g)

For sale is an authentic, traditional Ioannina silver-plated ashtray, brought as a gift from Ioannina about 20 years ago. It is a particularly sturdy and heavy piece weighing 289 grams and measuring approximately 14 centimeters in length. The item has its original vintage patina and the natural darkening of time. It has not undergone any chemical cleaning, allowing the shadows, details, and its antiquity to be ideally highlighted.

On the back, it bears the embossed stamps of the creator "PETROU" and the indication "ALP" (base made of high-quality alpaca with an external silver plating).

In the center, the Castle of Ioannina (Aslan Pasha Mosque) is depicted in relief with the inscription "YANINA", while it features an elaborate handmade wreath around it using the traditional filigree technique (wirework).
On the back, a small technical hole-guide (little hole) and marks from the artisan's pliers can be seen, elements that serve as a "certificate" that the piece is handcrafted and not made by an industrial mass production press.

In excellent vintage condition, ideal for collectors of folk art and traditional items.
