2000, Cappadocia - Stories and fairy tales for grown-up Romios.

2000, Cappadocia - Stories and Tales for Adult Romanians.

Dimitris Katsikas - a Cappadocian, set a goal and achieved it in the best way possible.
In love with the region of his mother's origin, Cappadocia, he made it his life's goal to gather as much historical and folkloric content as he could (of course, he did not only do this, as he is an excellent Byzantine scholar while also having composed Church music).

He started collecting material for the book in 1970, and in 1983 he made his first trip there.
He managed to gather 100 stories/tales from the area, which he presents in the 469 pages of the book.
The structure is very interesting.
It starts with a preface and introduction and proceeds by providing information about the region of Cappadocia.
From page 37 to 88, there are paragraphs (two per page) concerning the stories that will be read below. In these, he gives the title of the story, the informant (source), the community where each myth has its roots, as well as the meaning/interpretation of it.

The stories are wonderful, unique. With moral and religious lessons, with plenty of humor, and they take place over a wide time span. There will certainly be influences as well as unique elements of the area.
These 100 stories/tales extend from page 89 to 469 of the work.

The book was published in just 500 copies, aimed at collectors and libraries.
It is impossible to find even one copy on the market, apart from the present one.
In fact, it is not even possible to find a book of similar content about Cappadocia.

It is in perfect condition, practically unread. Large pages (29.50 x 22 centimeters), large font, excellent print quality, make it really easy to read.
With 469 pages and heavy, at 2 kilograms.

To give you a better idea, do not hesitate to ask for more photos or for me to photograph 1-2 complete stories so that you can get a better idea of the book.

Folklore, ethnography, customs and traditions, history, mythology, tales.
