This second edition is a rendering of the previous one in the demotic with improvements in the presentation of the text and some additions to Chapter 6, for a better presentation of the loop method in circuits with mutual inductance elements and dependent sources. We attempted this rendering in the demotic to provide the Greek literature with a valuable, modern, and complete aid that covers the area of Linear Circuits.

The book aims to accompany students in their first contact with Electrical Engineering, presenting the theory of circuits in a rather unified manner. The direct use of mathematical methods and algorithms for the analysis of electrical circuits does not contribute to the understanding of the basic principles and properties governing their behavior nor to the consolidation of the sequence of steps needed to solve a problem. A main feature of the book is the presentation of many examples for the explanation of the ideas and techniques presented in the text. There is also a wide variety of exercises at the end of each chapter. Some of these apply the ideas of the text while a small number improve or extend the ideas described in the text.
The book is self-contained and suitable for a semester course in the theory of linear circuits. It is aimed at students of Electrical and Electronic Engineering for their educational needs in the basic knowledge of this area. It is also aimed at students whose field of study is indirectly related to the applications of the theory of electrical circuits (e.g., Mechanical Engineers, Naval Architects, Chemical Engineers). The material is self-sufficient but broad enough to allow flexibility in teaching the course. It is assumed, of course, that the reader has knowledge of General Physics and Electromagnetism as well as Differential and Integral Calculus.
