SEGA Mega Drive 1 Console.
PAL European, RGB model as stated on the back of the console.
It is a hardware revision that was released in France with the best output in graphics and sound.
This is also evident in the indication around the cartridge slot where it states "HIGH DEFINITION GRAPHICS-STEREO SOUND".
According to many who are into retro gaming, the best version of the console in terms of hardware.
Clearly used but in respectable condition, it has been thoroughly cleaned externally and internally as part of general maintenance.

With a mod installed from Retro Upgrades that allows region switching between PAL, US, and JP, as well as changing from 50 to 60hz. It also features DFO (dual frequency oscillator) that allows for correct timings for both PAL and NTSC.

The transition happens in real-time while the console is operating by briefly holding down the Reset button. Correspondingly, the color of the console's operation LED changes cyclically from red to green to blue, removing the PAN SCAN bars above and below the screen, as shown in the photos.
