CLAUDIUS PTOLEMY GEOGRAPHICAL SYNOPSIS

Presentation
In the 2nd century AD, one of the most important geographical works for the then-known world was written by the Greek geographer and mathematician Claudius Ptolemy. In the 13th and 15th centuries, renowned Greek artists created two famous manuscript Codices with the texts of Ptolemy. The older manuscript is Codex 655 of the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi, while the later one is Codex 388, which is kept in the Marciana Library of Venice.
In the work of Claudius Ptolemy, all geographical knowledge is recorded with a vast wealth of place names, with precise details of coordinates and stunning cartographic representations.
The editions "Militos" have taken on the great responsibility to deliver these Codices to the global literature, in the form of the original, of high aesthetics and top scientific value, in a collectible edition of 3,000 numbered copies. The reproduction of both manuscripts was done using the method of homiography, with the most advanced technological means. The work is offered in a handmade leather case in the form of a lectern, which contains two accompanying volumes with scientific studies by internationally recognized scientists and a high-definition magnifying glass.
