Amazing, impressive, handmade carpet, very thick and very warm, ready cleaned and wrapped by a dry cleaner! It was created in Arta, about 40 years ago in honor of their team's coach. It has two defects (it has a mark from a very heavy object) and some minor wear. I do not have the ability to photograph it adequately (it is very bulky and heavy) so I tried as best as I could to show the fringes at the edge. I laid it out last year but unfortunately it wouldn't fit otherwise I wouldn't give it away. It is very beautiful and warm. Its base is burgundy and around it has a border towards brown.
You can understand the authenticity of a handmade carpet from two elements:
The "identity" is the weaving itself: Genuine handmade (hand-knotted) carpets have unique, slightly irregular patterns and are hand-tied knot by knot. If you turn the carpet upside down, you will see the pattern clearly on the back side, as if it is painted.
Also, the fringes are not sewn: In authentic pieces, the fringes are a natural continuation of the internal threads of the carpet (warp) and are not just additional decorative sewn onto it.
