The great painter George Kouzounis (1922-1998) studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts, spent most of his life in Moschato, and taught voluntarily for a decade at the municipality's painting workshop.
He was an exceptional painter as he created pioneering paintings for his time, but his work remains almost unknown, although his participation in exhibitions was rich.
He became known mainly for the giant posters for the cinema. At the same time, he illustrated books, created murals in public and private spaces, and a series of portraits of prime ministers that adorn the Hellenic Parliament.
