In the second volume of the series "Greek Mythology", the Cosmogony is first narrated, describing how the universe was imagined to have been created in ancient times: Uranus, the Earth, Pontus, the first gods, and the first humans. Then, we are introduced to the Twelve Olympians - the most well-known group of Greek gods and the most familiar to the reader - to see how the ancient Greeks wove the actions of the gods, their loves or their passions, into their myths, as well as other stories related to their worship practices. In this volume, the "father of gods and men", Zeus, and his sister and wife, Hera, are examined. Each god is presented separately, so that all information about him - his characteristics, his relationships with other gods and heroes - is found in the chapter dedicated exclusively to that specific god.
