Language and Dialogue Systems - Christina Alexandri

Language is the most important interface in Dialog Systems, as Human-Machine communication systems based on oral communication between human User and Computer are supported.
It presents the basic architecture and types of Dialog Systems, as well as the most prevalent modeling practices in various fields of use, both for specialized applications and services for the general public. In addition, the specifications necessary for the construction of Dialog Systems that are part of multilingual or complex applications, in combination with other systems, are highlighted.
In this approach, the decisive role of the "Language" factor is emphasized in achieving the goals of speed, accuracy, and efficiency in Dialog Systems and in communication systems in general.
The Dialog Systems presented and analyzed mainly concern the services sector, the banking-financial sector, and the fields of technical applications in devices, vehicles, and Robotics.
