The Prince

The books focus on leading figures who have shaped the history, culture, ideas, and institutions of our land from antiquity to the recent past. Each volume refers to the life and work of a personality that has left indelible marks, engaging our thought and action for centuries and decades, and will continue to be a reference point for many more years to come.

The books feature rich illustrations from contemporary photographs, paintings, engravings, museum exhibits, prints, sculptures, period photographs, newspaper headlines, and more. The images enrich the text and 'transport' the reader to the era described in each volume.

Most of the texts are original and were written by well-known professors and researchers from universities or institutions in Greece and abroad. The rest are translations or reissues of works published by Cambridge University Press, the Hellenic Parliament, and others.

The series is overseen by Thanos Veremis, emeritus professor at the University of Athens.
