Anson has been in business since 1938 and is based in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. Characteristics of the company are tradition in craftsmanship, quality, durability and style that suits every taste and every occasion.

The clip offered here has an oval shape, the surface of which is pompous and has a special golden-bronze color. Its design is reminiscent of a painting as in its center the surface is smooth and glossy, while around the perimeter a “picture frame” is created from embossed carved floral motifs. The central surface is left blank at the choice of the designer, in order, if one wishes, to “personalize” the clip by engraving the initials of its name there. Finally, the peg that holds the tie to the shirt is serrated to better do its job.

This distinctive clip belonged to my father and was purchased during a trip to America in the 1960s. It was worn a lot by him and then passed into my own hands and has been stored ever since. In relation to its age and use it is in excellent vintage condition. It has no breaks, cracks, etc. It still shines brightly while its color remains clean and unaltered. The clip firmly holds the strength in its clothespin, so it is secure on the tie and of course serves its purpose. Indeed, the general condition of the object confirms the high-quality materials of Anson as well as the reliability of this particular company. Essentially this is an accessory that after many years of use is in impeccable vintage condition! [Please observe carefully the photos that are part of my description.
