Porcelain from Germany, by Seltmann Weiden (2 plates from 1989, 3 plates from 1990, 1 plate from 1991). Artist Hubert Kaplan. Each plate: with a diameter of 19 centimeters, in a gift box, with a certificate of authenticity signed by the painter and the company, perforated, included in the Bradex catalog, contains its own brochure with the artist's biography, company history, and words from an expert - a critique of Klaus Lukaschewitz's creativity. "The Animals of Our Village", curated by Christian Seltmann Weiden, was transferred to fine porcelain, in a limited edition that lasted 95 firing days. With admirable mastery, the artist has captured a scene whose originality, tranquility, and richness of tradition immediately captivates the viewer. Every animal, every plant, every detail, no matter how small, has been reproduced with love and precision by Kaplan. With a sure sense of the beauty of the landscape, he wanders through his immediate surroundings, always seeking lovable, idyllic patterns. In the collection "The Animals of Our Village", he always painted the same village, but from different perspectives, yet you can always see the imposing church tower with the farmhouses and cottages in front of it - sometimes from the village pond, the village green, the village pasture. The scenes are captured in such a way that one has the impression that the artist observed the animals in the surrounding area of the village from a hidden spot, waiting for the most exciting moment and immortalizing it for posterity. The collection "Animals of Our Village" only retains farm animals that people have become accustomed to during a long developmental process of domestication, which they care for and use to meet their vital needs. Here in Europe, these include dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, cattle, donkeys, rabbits, pigeons, geese, ducks, and of course, horses, along with a few others, which Hubert Kaplan depicted here in an original village pen. Only rarely do contemporary artists manage to make a name for themselves in international artistic circles during their lifetime, as is the case with Hubert Kaplan.
