Giannis Kordatos (1891-1961) was the most significant representative of Marxist historiography in Greece. In this work, he examines the figure of Jesus and the genesis of Christianity with historical, philological, and sociological criteria, placing them within the social and economic conditions of Judea and the Roman Empire. It is one of the most discussed Greek books of its kind and continues to be sought after by scholars of the history of religions and Greek leftist literature.

- Interior: the body of the text is coherent and legible, with normal yellowing of time on the page edges.
- No underlining or notes are found on the photographed pages.
