Soil Mechanics Data. Georgiadis Konstantinos, Georgiadis Michalis

The book "Elements of Geotechnical Engineering" deals with the limit state of failure of geotechnical works. The basic principles of soil mechanics behavior are developed for both drained and undrained loading conditions, along with methods of limit equilibrium, upper and lower bounds, and intensive field, which are used to analyze limit state problems. These methods are applied to calculate soil pressures on various types of supports, analyze the stability of retaining walls, and determine the bearing capacity of shallow foundations and pile foundations. Methods proposed by Eurocode 7 are presented for checking the stability of supports and retaining walls, and the adequacy of foundations. Finally, each chapter of the book includes several solved examples to help the reader understand the various analysis and design methods. (From the presentation on the back cover of the book)
